I understand that medium bombers require a minimum AF size of 4 to perform at normal efficiency and suffer no penalties. Here's my question: I transferred a Nell squadron from Saigon to Cam Ranh Bay, both AF sizes are 4 or larger, however my Nell's at Cam Ranh Bay can only load with bombs now when they could load with torps at Saigon. What is needed to be able to have them loaded with torps again, is it airbase size, or port size that allow for arming of torps? Supply at Cam Ranh Bay is about 6500, need more supply?

Need an air HQ within range.

An airbase must be at least size 2 for offensive missions ( I think floatplanes may be exempt).

Netties need an airfield of size 4 for full efficiency but thats nowt to do with torpedoes in AE, you can launch torps from a size 2 airbase.

The information was in the manual, there's just so much to remember! Pg's 165-166 for those that run across the same problem. This will help me plan better air operations in the future.

Don't think it's reflected in the game, but despite only having 2 engines the Beatty was described as a 'heavy strategic bomber' by the IJN

I've been having trouble with this. There are some bases where I have 4+ airfields, 100K supplies, Naval HQ, Air HQ and tons of naval support and tons of Air support, and I still can't load torps on my Betties and Nells. What am I doing wrong?

Do your Air HQ have Torpedo's in its device ? 
 
If not, then press TO&E, then click the Yellow "Torpedo Ordenence" button,  then enter a Torpedo Value...  and next round they should have it in their device.
I see that this often has to be done after ship or air  movement of Air HQ's.

Yes, I have been having problems with HQs that have been moved by sea.
