Do the different types off supply get modeled? I e fuel etc
I was particularly interested if the German player takes the oil fields if this has an negative affect on red army offensive operations, and in like manor if Ploisti falls does this cripple the Germans?
as an example
thanks

Yes, there are three types of supply in the game: fuel, ammo and general supply. If the Axis player takes the oil fields of the Caucasus he will increase his fuel supply and reduce that of the Russian; the reverse is true if Polesti is taken by the Russian player.

f the Axis player takes the oil fields of the Caucasus he will increase his fuel supply

On the next turn? Seems reasonable that the Soviets would inflict extensive sabotage if the facilities were in imminent danger and the Germans would be compelled to devote time and resources to repair them.

As EA sports likes to say, "It's in the game."

thanks J seems that the red army would be hard pressed with the loss of the oil, can the Germans inflict dmage via air attacks to these fields?
Is strategic bombing modeled in this way?
thanks agian.. looking forward to this title

most likely, it will be damaged when captured, the fight for the area it is in, can also do damage to it, so, it will take some time to repair, like any of the other "areas" in the game

overall, when you take a Factory City, the Production Factories are destroyed, the resource Factories are damaged

Factories, Ports, Yes, I will look into the other types when I get back into the game

as Jon says, I don't think you will be disappointed, the game was "great" early in Alpha, and just get better with each update

okay, hope I am with in bounds

I picked a "target" and this is what I was allowed to target

Arm Production (weapons, not Armor)
Vehicle Production
Port
RailYard
Manpower
Oil
Resource
Heavy Ind

(add Production to the end of a few of those)

so, yes, if the target you wanted to bomb, had Oil production there, you could bomb it

each of those will also have a number for the size of the target

not every target will have the same set up

how about trains?
I would think fighters strafing trains would be way out there, if you guys include fb that can do ground attacks and ruduce an abstract like supplies that would really win you a gold star lol
Speaking of supplies, how abstracted are they?
thanks for the input, is this a summer 2010 release projected date?

Rail transport is not a unit so you can't attack it with air units but you can bomb HQs where supplies accumulate and destroy them there.

Fuel is consumed when units (primarily motorized) move; ammo is consumed whenever a unit (we're talking individual tank, squad ,gun) participates in a round of combat; general supply is consumed by all units during a supply phase.

Yes, summer of 2010 is the current projected release date.

Supplies do need to be transported, and while it is abstracted, as it should be... it ust be moived from where it is produced, and generally from depots to HQ to units, all the while being subject to interdiction.. just my 2 cents worth since " we" are still in the design stages
looks great guys

You can bomb supply by bombing HQs and combat units themselves and you can of course strategically bomb the factories producing the supply, but you can't bomb the trains or the rail lines.

Definitely sign me up for this game, production or no production. By release time I'll need a WITP:AE and Eagle Day alternative.

Cheers,
