hellcat vs goblin

Not long before D-Day, hell (cat) came to the peaceful English countryside as Red Team (me) and er... Green Team? (Goblin) practice their tactics for the up and coming D-Day fighting....

I dropped an augmented company right on top of Goblin's VH turn one. It's the middle of the night and vis is down to 3. All hell immediately broke loose and he's already given me a bloody nose. Those Quad .50 cal AAMGs ain't nice at all within 3 hexes...

I immobilised one of your M16's (although from the wrong direction so expecting to get it next round for that!)

Theme for turn one - Lots of creeping around in the bushes and twigs snapping and guys going 'hey- who's that?' dakka dakka dakka!

hellcat - a hellcat is coming...

To be a little more specific, we are playing a training exercise for D-Day, 5/44, US vs US.

Everything is nasty at three hexes! My paras seem to be better gunned for this fighting, with Tommyguns instead of Garands, but we shall see.

Flash! Thunder!

Goblin- A Goblin trains hard:D

hellcat,

You wrote in your e-mail about that town on my rear objective. WHAT TOWN!?!?!?!? All I see is a blasted heap of rubble from those FOUR 4.5 inch rockets sections you had blow it to hell! The British government isn't gonna like this....

Goblin- A Goblin says send some carpenters;)

we told them to stop shelling the town but... you guys! My jeep recon teams ran into lotsa trouble in your N.E. sector, man you got guys hiding round every corner don't you? my airborne remnants are trying to stop 'milling about'. not seen anything of your armour though...

Ok, the weather just turned foul, its raining mortar rounds everywhere, plus some rocket hail. Wo got 60's, 81's, 4 Deuces, 4.5's, 3" Zookas, all kindsa stuff! It's a wonderful night in the English countryside, and nobody is sleepin' baby!:)

So far, hellcat is just probing the front while I find all those paras in my rear areas. The map is pretty heavily wooded.

Goblin- A Goblin has a Kevlar rainsuit;)

any hopes of a quick victory for our team have sadly diminished, where did all my airborne go?

Are you serious? If so, push the VCR playback button at the bottom by the mini-map (at the beginning of your turn). If you are not serious, they all switched armbands, because we have better beer.

One of your Airborne squads found my armor. He didn't last long suckin' 105mm rounds from a support tank or two!:D

Surrender, and we will party in town---- Ooops, no town. Ok, we will party in the tents!

Goblin- A Goblin pushes 'play';)

surrender??? you're kidding me right? we're sitting on plenty of vh for that! why don't you come and party in our town? it's still standing... if you can find your way that is...

Goblin's armor has broken cover (at last!) and all hell is about to erupt in a meeting of steely shells... true test of hellcat's hellcats coming up... :o

Ah, I thought you took those hexes, they disappeared off my map! I think you might need a clean install!

My turns coming up, we'll see what we'll see.;)

ahh i noticed they disappeared too... I have a fresh install... could it be the map? as it's not happened on anything else I've played today... uh oh... problem?

No, I can still see a little red dot where they are. Belisarius noted this problem also in your security warning thread. I don't care if I see them or not, I ain't hunting vic hexes, I'm hunting the boys guarding them!

You had to go and make me angry! I warned you, you won't like me angry, I get really big, green, and nasty! Ok, I'm already green, and I'm only 4 ft tall (an exceptionally tall and strong specimen!), but I still get nasty!

Here I come! You probably recieved a very brief warning over the radio from those hellcats on the north road, before they were overrun.  :D

Banzai! Banzai! Er, uh, Geronimo! Geronimo! Yeah, that's the right one!

Goblin- A Goblin's getting some scalps:mad:

the fight contines but I have a lot of burning hellcats now :( (man!) Goblin really is rather good at this nightfighting... there'll be some payback after this... my infiltrating rangers are making themselves felt but his flame tanks are a nightmare to deal with at such close range...
