there is a little bug in the upgrade: i think that the options are, in same place, rewrite as it was a new game:
1)now I play with PDU off but the game start with PDU on.

2)same rear front air units are put in training 40

3)the method of pilot assignement are put on automatic, but the game start with replacement off.

attached the last turn, when i see the troubles

when you upgrade, the options are reset back to defaults.

for air group on training: all air groups outside china/formosa are on stand down before patch

yes, but the this is a running PBEM game

I also have asked to my opponent: for allied side PDU work.

and seeing in the ingame preference screen PDU are set ON. but i cann't change aircraft model.

so now we have a PBEM where one side have PDU on and one side PDU off
