How is PC:K similar and/or different from CM:B2B?

Hey guys,
I very much enjoyed the Combat Mission games, and was wondering about the differences and/or similarities between the CM series and PC:K. Thinking of taking advantage of the holiday sale to pick up both titles in this series.
Has the "all the inf falling down at the same time when the last one in the squad dies" issue been changed, or is that still pertinent?
Also, do they run in widescreen resolutions?
Thanks.

I think this is a yes, the infantry unit still shows all full infantry until last infnatry step is eliminated.

I think answer is yes, but not sure. for resolution choices it shows 1024x768, 1280 x 720, 1280 x768 (i think) and 1280 x 800. the last three show (wide) in parenthesis.

I would say the PC:K is a dumbed down version of CMBB with better graphics.

Good enough. You're entitled to your own opinion.
I've played both and I would disagree with you.

"Dumb" is sitting front of a computer and watching twenty or thirty turrets turn in unison at the nearest threat. Obviously, I'm talking BORG here. It has nothing to do with "realism" or a "smart AI." In point of fact it's a hopelessly simplistic mechanism that was intended to deal with a PC-performance issue from another era.

I just played a battle where my T70 was targeted by a PAK40 in some woods. The PAK was visible to some other tank but not the one being shot at. I couldn't switch targets to what it couldn't see. That's the difference.
Lucky for me the other tank took out the PAK before it could finish off the T70.

Maybe dumbed down was not the right choice of words. I just found it IMHO was less realistic in the results I noticed when playing. Mind you I have only had about 3-4 hours on it as opposed to CMBB of at least 100+. It is still a good game, it just is not anything new that I noticed vs CMBB which is what a 7+ year old game. You can buy CMBB for like what $5.00.

Debates about the game system aside:
the graphics and, notably, the interface are far ahead of the CM series. It's not perfect but I was always fighting against the interface in CM as much as my digital enemy much, much more.

Hmm, the question should be will this game stand against the latest CM Normandy version? Im not talking fancy graphics here but gameplay, though for some gameplay is more important.
So while PC may blow CMBB away, will it do the same to CMN?
Id say, best get PC out before CMN arrives.

The scale is different and CMN has DRM, then I prefer East Front games...

PC isn't trying to be a CM clone. Comparisons are inevitable because they are the same scale as CMx1 and they are both tactical level WWII games.
This game has features that CMx1 doesn't have. What will CMN have for features? I haven't seen the list.
I've not seen a list of what CMN is to have. If past performance is any indication CMN will be controversial in it's own right. I believe PC can stand in that circle and be compared with CMx1 which it more closely resembles. CMN is a proposed version of CMx2 which is a different scale than both CMx1 and PC.
I think CMx2 will have a totally different market than those gamers that will like PC. But that's just my own opinion.
Good Hunting.
