In short: Allow the player to found AI controlled satellite states which start out allied with the founding player.

You get rid of excess colonies, secure your borders, reduce micromanagement, reduce bureaucracy and even get a new trading partner.

Seems like a good idea. Kind of like appointing a regional gov'ner to reduce the Imperial workload.

And there is still the possibility they might give you the rasberry and turn on you. (ingrates...)

And you even have a dilema of sorts. To make them an effective ally, you'll have to give them some good systems. And if they decide they don't like you, ........oops.

yeah, prior to appointing a governor you'd need to know what you have to do to keep your allies happy. :)

Set them up. Later they decide they to take you on.

So you go through the hassle of conquering them.

And you end up back where you started.. (hehe...)

Who said that being a galactic despot should be easy [:D]
