Hi!
I´m new to this forum and the game itself. It would be great if someone with experience could answer this newbees question.

*Can I use a edited map in a PBEM-game. If yes, then how?

Thanks in advance

When Player 1 is setting up the battle he should select the "Custom Map" button.

When the other preference selections are all complete move on to the next screen where you would expect to buy your forces. You will be prompted to select a map from the list of maps in the mapcase. Select your map and continue. You will be able to buy your forces now.

Be aware, though, that certain maps may be incompatible with your nation selection. For example, I set up a battle Germany v Romania in 1945 and the retreat hexes were on the wrong side of the map. Using the same map but selecting Germany v USSR 1945 the retreat hexes show up on the correct sides.

Therefore, before sending the battle files to your opponent, I would suggest that you save your email files in a zip archive then 'play' the selection turn and deployment turn for Player 2. You only need to select one formation and autodeploy.

Check that your retreat hexes and reinforcement flags are on the correct sides of the map and that the deployment lines are set fairly. If everything looks good, exit the battle and send your zip archive to your opponent.

If you really really want to play on that map, and the Flags(retreat and reinforcement) are backwards, sometime the switch sides button will work. I have also had luck setting the flags in the map editor(instructions on page 185 and 186 of the manual), then saving as a scenario, then reloading the scenario and saving the map to a different slot in the map case. I've done this twice and it worked both times, but I havn't really sat down and figured out why, so it could have just been luck.
