Carrier Pilot Training

I have a quick question. My carrier pilots need lots of training. When placed in training mode, do they get the same amount of experience and skills when;
1. Disbanded in port?
2. In the shipyard?
3. In a TF at a port
4. In a TF docked at a port?
5. Under way at sea?
Can you quantify the differences?
Thanks!

I think last patch did enable carrier air to train when disbanded in port too, before that you had to fly them to land base to train. But I don;t think there is any difference in quality/quantity of training in different ship/TF "modes" (docked, at sea, disbanded etc.).

A slight question here - how can carrier pilots 'train' whilst in port/disbanded, other than read manuals and watch old grainy training films?
A carrier has to be moving and into wind in order to launch/retrieve aircraft...

Well, they could always revert back how it was...if you really want extra clicks to transfer squadrons to land base and back...[:'(]

It's for players convenience, thats all.

I've had mine training in all the ways you mentioned above for 2.5 months game time and can say there is no differance at all. On a good note I've put "CV Capable" AC on my CV's and two units converted to "CV Trained" in 1.5 months of on board training, though another three or four units are still working on it 2.5 months later...lol
Later,

In real life most Carrier training occurs on solid ground. FCLPs (Field Carrier Landing Practice) occur under LSO supervision over a period of days/weeks and most techniques are learned in this time. Along with lots of ground training/briefing etc. Actual CQ aboard ship is a very small part of overall carrier training, and is really the Graduation exercise, that ultimately ends in a designation of Carrier Qualified, or CQ'd.

Train them on land in other units, then disband them into the carrier groups. That's been the modus operandi since Witp. Still works.

Why disband the units?
Set up the unit for training; when the pilots are at a good level, transfer them to reserve, then to the carrier unit.
Replace the trained pilots with new pilots in the training unit, and repeat the process.
No need to disband, and lose the training unit for 60 days.

If they train as well on board a ship in port, why would I want to train them on land?

Oh, less clicks to check how they're doing, and you can use for other purposes in a pinch of bad guys show up.
