Ok, here goes-

1.Is this correct? I have VMF121 at San Diego. It shows an upgrade path to (get this) F2A-3 Buffalo!!

2.Do AE & AKE have to have supply on board to help replentish? Or, can they use the bases supply? Also on AE-AKE-are they strictly US types? Can a Brit AK convert to AKE?

3. A Brit unit in hex 55-48 was attacked by a large enemy unit, forcing it to retreat to Ramree Island, hex 54-45. That retreat was across a body of water. When I later tried to give marching orders for the unit to Akyab, I was told "not possible". If it's not possible to march, how did it retreat across that water?

2.  They do have to be loaded with supply to replenish ammo.  Not sure about Brit AK's being able to convert. 

3.  Sounds like a bug.

1 is correct and something to be happy about, it'll allow the planes it's flying now (3 or 3A?) to go to the more important carrier squadrons. Later on it should upgrade again.

The 36 Kate's stationed in Japan at the beginning of game. How do you unrestrict them. It looks like I don't even have the option to spend politcal points to move them off the mainland or fly to any carriers?

There are some restricted units in the game that cannot be moved away from an area. They are essentially static home defense units. They can move among the AF's on mainland Japan, but cannot be deployed elsewhere. Units that the command is not yellow or unchangable are those units that cannot be moved regardless of political points.

Now as I am assuming that those Kates are going to be targeted at me that makes me happy since you have totally nailed my ships early in our game:)

One idea to get those Kates to other units is to upgrade them to Jeans (i think that is the older TB) and then free up those Kates to use in other units. Some consider this a gamey tactic but as your opponent I can tell you that is fine with me. I feel that as the commander you can decide where to best use those units so upgrade/downgrade to your hearts content.

Nothing gamey about it at all , the allies do the same with west coast restrictec units anyway (see vmf 121 comment[;)])
