Game interface lags after several turns

I've been noticing that the game interface starts to lag considerably once I've gotten double-digit turns into a scenario. Not a lag in AI Planning / Simulating Turn time, or in the actual animations (as far as I can tell).

But when I click on a unit, whether on the map or HUD, it definitely hangs. I was about 30+ turns into a scenario last night, and by that time, I was clicking on units and experiencing about 2 second hang before the selection would 'take.' I know it doesn't sound like much, but it actually becomes pretty frustrating when you're managing so many units.

Is this due to a memory leak? A known problem?

Specs of my laptop that i'm using:

Vista 64 bit
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz
Nvidia 8600 GMT
4 Gig Ram

I don't know if there is a memory leak or just large temporary tables made and not released.  But what you can do is save the game and load it right back.

Thanks for the suggestion Mobius -- Ordinarily, that would seem a cumbersome work-around, but i've noticed the game saves and loads extremely fast, and easily done in-game, so i will definitely give this a try later tonight. It may well work, since I don't notice any IF lag when I boot up initially & for several turns afterward.
