Can Bioed modify core unit types?

I have successfully added/modfied units with Bioed, so I have the basic idea down. What I am trying now is to change the names of the core unit types, for instance changing Combat Command A/B/C/R to BCT 1/2/3/4. After exporting the DB the equipment.eqp file shows the changes that I have made, but when I run the game they are still listed as the originals. But as I said, if I modified the units themselves (for example, I added a transport capacity to the M3 Bradley) those changes went fine.

Very frustrating. Any ideas?

On page 6 of the "How to Edit the Equipment Database" PDF file, I wrote:

"Note that the other tabs (“Core”, “Counters”, “Terrains”, and “Skin”) are features that aren’t used by TOAW III’s .eqp files. They will not be discussed in this document (and are all subjects better handled via TOAW III’s alternate graphics features)."

So, while you can modify them in BioEd, they won't be used by TOAW III. They would have been used by ACOW, though.

Thanks for the quick response.

Yeah, I read that in the manual, I was just hoping that there was some trick that I haven't been able to figure out. Not a big deal I guess. I can still use the modified graphics, but I would have liked to see the OOB info changed as well. Not that it affects the game, just for my own satisfaction.

Thanks again.
