upgrading air groups

Is it normal that after upgrading air units they receive new a/c but the older ones don´t go to a/c pool?

It will take time for the replaced airframes to turn up in the pools, wait a couple of turns and they should appear.

Yes, that is normal. You should see a message in your ops report about the planes returning to the pool.
