Ok I can’t pull off a good Calvary charge. Can someone give me a quick rundown on the best way to do one, the do’s and don’ts?

not sure what you mean, you can't ?

if trying to charge Inf, most times they will try and form square (which is really the main goal of the charge)

to do the most/best damage, you want to hit a disordered Inf unit

remember, it can be HARD to reform a Cav unit after it goes Disordered from a charge (so making the target form a square, with out you going disordered, is a good thing)

Arty is really you main Target for Charges, break and capture them if you can

I normally come out on the worst end. I lose more than I kill, even when charging in the rear. Is it best to charge in column or in line?

Generally speaking it is much better to charge in a line. I don't recall having a charge from a column-I suppose it is possible. There could be a time that is preferable if there are just enough movement points to reach and charge an artillery unit which had become exposed.

That would make an interesting experiment; artillery firing into the head of a charging cavalry column. It could be nasty, but may pay off in some circumstances.

if the defenders, pass there morale check, yea, you can get hurt bad charging them

which when all is said and done, I do try to form a Cav Corps, just so I can control the enemy Inf during a battle
