Hi All,
I wanted to take the time to mention that the
Napoleonic Wargame Club (NWC) is still around and still has folks playing these versions of John Tiller's games. We were founded in 1998 and we are the "Oldest Napoleonic Wargaming Club Online".
We have a large & very international membership of people who love the games & love the Napoleonic Era. We offer a fun, casual atmosphere to play the games, with emphasis on the members and the games.
You can read more about who we are here:
http://www.wargamech.ca/wc/nwc/Club_Web ... outUs.html
You can also checkout our newly redesigned website:
http://www.wargame.ch/wc/nwc/Napann1.htm
As well as see what is going on in our Discussion Forum:

If you have any questions feel free to post here or email me. My name is Scott Ludwig & my email is:
eric2900@aol.com
Also check out our sister Club the American Civil War Game Club (ACWGC) for Tiller's Civil War games:

Happy Gaming!

I infer that to join these clubs, to have forum posting privileges, I must accept a "command assignment" and be willing to PBEM. What if I, a committed solitaire player, just want to ask questions and occasionally comment in the fora?

The Napoleonic GameSquad forum is open to everyone - no commitment required. [8D]
With that said, I highly reccomend you try PBEM...you won't regret it.

The iNWC also allows people to just sign up for our forum. The forum is located at:

We have had plenty of visitors in the past and you are welcome to post too.
But I agree w/Rich, PBEM is a lot of fun, especially if you find some good folks to play with.
The GameSquad forum is a niffty & helpful place too....

Thanks. I have registered/joined. But just to participate in the Forum, not do PBEM.

It depends on your idea of fun. Fortunately, there is enough flexibility in the Tiller games (BGS, HPS) to offer many paths to enjoyment. My enjoyment is hot-seat solitaire, in-house rules (in particular, command control overlay), stress on historicity/plausibility, indifference to scenario/designer-specified winning or losing (either against a human opponent or the AI). I also like to play hours at a time, not in PBEM fits and starts, and according to my own peculiar schedules. And, given my many other competing interests/commitments, without obligation to any human opponent. (The computer doesn't care if I walk away from a game for weeks or even months on end.)
Obviously, Your (and most people's) Mileage May Vary.

That is very true! I often dip into a solo game as it gives me a chance to just do it my way and play around. I too will do that for hours at a time. So certainly I can appreciate it. Most HPS/BG players are solo gamers... [:)]

Sadly PBEM is just out for me - I have a recurrent health problem which leads to me being hors de combat for weeks to months at a time. As I've sadly discovered, this tends to place a huge dent in my ability to play PBEM and is grossly unfair to a human opponent if I become ill for several months during a long game (or even a short one). When God grants you early retirement for health reasons it seems he doesn't always want you to fill your time with fun things
Still, in the mood for some Napoleonics and I think it's time to take the uhlans for a gallop.
Have been a huge fan of the NIR project since it initially started (must be at least 10 years old now?) so I'll definitely sign up to the forums providing I don't get roped into PBEM

You are most welcome to join the
iNWC Forum and take part in any of discussions. Not everyone is able to PBEM for many reasons, so we understand.... [:)]
