Ok, I've captured about 25 French ships. They are preventing me from building any more army units. If I didband them will I get the 30 wood like you do after a battle? What is the best thing to do with them?

what are there sizes ? it takes a number of ships to make a unit

other question would be, do you need the troops ? (I assume you be England ?) other then facing off vs the Grands, the English Army is normally good enough

(there will be two up grades that will let you expend your troops numbers (not worth more, 10% for each is not worth much)

Well, I lost my entire army after capturing those ships and now I can only build 2 inf max. Too bad I can't sell them or use them for trade.

From memory here but...
No, you do not get the wood from disbanding them.
And as Britain, you really do not need those ships, I am guessing they have low morale?
I would disband them, and consider part one of your quest for supremacy in Europe over, as the only large fleet remaining is the Spanish, and those ships are not too good, so you will win any naval battle against Spain quite easily.
If you are to keep some of them, I would opt for the frigates as they can be used to hunt down privateers.
