Using the combat simulator

So I was taught about the simulator option yesterday. It's a great tool for doing the statistical analyses I wanted to do on certain AT situations.

Here's one of those frequently occuring humbling moments when I think I know something well and learn I still only know a fraction of it.

I assume that people can use it as a kind of "combat adviser". I've never used while playing an AT scenario.

I'm just curious to hear from others? How do you use the simulator? How often do you use it? Under what circumstances? Are there folk who would never make an attack without consulting the adviser?

It can only be used on the very first turn of a game. So you can't really use it as a combat advisor.
It's absolutely great way of when you are creating or modifying units in the editor to test out how they do under various situations, but I don't think it would be of much use in a real game.

that makes sense,

I didn't check whether it could be used after the first turn[8|] ( I'm just using it for simulations). Personally, I'm glad it is not available as an adviser.
