I'm getting the following error msg when I attempt to generate either a random battle or campaign:
Script Error
Line 2887
Invalid Argument
I've noticed there are no text labels next to the icons for the random battle generator, and the campaign editor progress bar doesn't advance.
Order # 148341773
BTW, my CD also didn't have a serial number imprinted on it.

If you have IE8 on your system, find the forum thread with the hotfix.

I get all Windows updates, so assuming I had IE8, I extracted the hotfix from my desktop to PCK and replaced the file, then the entire Random Battle Generator screen went blank.
What am I doing wrong?

What OS do you have?
Right click the zip, click properties, at the bottom does it talk about unblocking?
Did you put the fix file in the main PCK folder?

Yes, there's an "Advanced" and an "Unblock" option, but no, I simply extracted the file from my desktop into the Matrix to PCK pathway.
I take it that was
not the proper procedure; was I supposed to physically place the zip folder into the main PCK folder and select "Unblock" before I unzipped?

On your desktop is fine for the zip. Try unblocking then extracting the file into your main PCK folder.

Tnx, unblocking, that file worked like a charm; the random battle screen now appears w/all it's info intact, and I assume the random campaign generator will work as well.

Thank goodness, I was running out of ideas. Windows new security features suck.
Try a 500 point battle with 50% tanks in 1941 to start. That should give you a few tanks and troops just to try things out.

A PCK player on this forum posted how important this feature was to him, and I'm beginning to realize what he meant; I've just started experimenting w/the random generator and it's amazing.
Any chance Matrix will post PCK approved player scenarios for download?

You've seen how it creates the file that you see in your scenario list. After you play it and think it's worth sharing, find the file in your Data/Scenarios folder. Rename it so that it makes sense and doesn't get overwritten. Then open that renamed file in the Scenario Editor and change the Title and save.
Now you can zip the file and upload it here in the scenario section to share or replay it again yourself.
