I just ran the updates, 1.6, 1.7hot and 1.7

and my game is completely crashing when I hit start game on the main screen of the game

help please

Did you do it in that order? You do need to do the hotfix last, or you will have the wrong exe.

that fixed it thanks I though I had installed in the right order

Having exactly the same problem as desribed above. Have re-installed 1.70 and 1.70 hotfix in proper order. Same result. Game crashes when I try to open scenario and my ConsoleOut looks the same as the one displayed above.

What is the next thing in loading sequence? What should follow "loading_file_")data\scenarios\1939 Grand Campaign\image.png" [1]... OK"? I have noticed that I can open the normal scenarios, but most of my own crash. When using saves from the said scenarios, they open fine however. Have you changed any images or what?

I only discovered this half an hour ago when trying to start a scenario from scratch (have been working with graphics and therefore used saves to check results after installing hotfix). Must now be off for work. Back in 10 hours.

Most probably this is somehow connected with description.txt file that is in scenario folder, but not in savegame folder. Try to remove description.txt from your scenario first. If this will allow you to select this scenario and start new game, then copy description.txt from any "standard" one and edit.

Although, I couldn't figure out what was different in the two text files. Nevertheless, I have now removed the old ones and everything is fine again. Thank you.
