THANK YOU (in advance)

After seeing those Typhoon screenshots, I am really excited about the eventual release of this remake.

I remember playing the original back in '91 while working Tech Support at DEC/Digital - in between phone calls, uh, of course [;)]

I really enjoyed it then, and this looks to be a HUGE improvement.

OK, back to TOAW3 for the moment - but I can't wait to transfer my addiction

Lol...
"HUGE improvement" (over WIR), where, except the graphics?
Compared with TOAW3, wats the improvement?

From an historical and simulation accuracy point of view, WitE is to WIR what chess is to checkers.

So WitE is like chess in that it has a Queen piece?

So unless you're going simulate or provide images with the game of Herman Goering wearing ladies undergarments, your analogy will be correct.[:'(][:D]

Compared with TOAW3 ?

From an historical and simulation accuracy point of view, better than a history book?

I've never played TOAW3 so I have no basis of comparison. I was comparing WitE to WIR. If you are so satisfied with TOAW3 then don't buy WitE. I honestly don't understanding why so many of you on this forum want to prejudge the game before even playing it? Gary is making a game not writing tax law. If you're not interested in WitE then stop commenting on it.

I have lots of experience with TOAW3 and am now doing some alpha-test on WitE in preparation for development of some small scenarios, and to make a long story short...

TOAW3 is unique in that it has a very broad scope, and is a great game for scenario designers, and has attracted all sorts of grognards that have designed all sorts of great scenarios. But, as far as the game systems used to play the game... not competitive, IMO, with WiR (and WitE is a big step up from WiR).

So, IMO, nobody should take TOAW3 seriously as competition for WitE.

Well, TOAW3 will still be cool as far as bringing up those scenarios and LOOKING at them.

Maybe someday someone will come along and put out a new game that starts with the TOAW concept but has the game systems that do the scenarios justice.

Yeah, maybe not.

Whatever,

Zaratoughda

I like any kind of game like this, with all the crap that's released these days its nice to see someone trying to improve the "Not so fancy" kind of game. I have loads of HPS games, FPS's, and everything in between. I love TOAW but one of my all time favorites is war in russia, I still have the original game and box. Thanks for making this style of game and I am sure it will be good and it will get better with the patches that come along.
