For now now thats as good as it gets. 4th quarter of year similar
one should be released, except it'll cover the entire Pacific war.

I just received the game today!!! The reason I even considered it is because I've been playing Gary Grigsby's War in Russia, which is really good. One drawback is it's not simultaneous, so it's "you go, then I go".
How's the play balance in this one? Does either side have a reasonable chance to be victorious? The reason I ask is the other game by Gary G. I mention favors the German side. I like the idea of more play balance.
I'm really looking forward to trying this game!
Thanks, Mark

Depends on the scenario, depnding play styles and experience, some scenarios will tend to favor one side or the other. My limited experience with the historical campaign seems to be pretty balanced. Some tweaks to the Auto-victory rules will be coming in the patch, but balance is always a hard thing to rate until you have played a scenario a dozen of more times. That can take a while in UV
I remember laughing about articles in the General about (isert game here) where articles declared games or scenarios "hopelessly unbalanced" until someone figured out a tactic the made it "hopelessly unbalanced" the OTHER WAY...
