Diverting LW planes to other field: USAAF Solution

Hello List (first post, go easy on me),

As a veteran of the original USAAF from '85/'86 and BTR in 2000 these are my observations on the feasibility of German fighters to land at a base somewhere other than their take-off base.

In USAAF, Gary's first whack at the bombing campaign over Europe, the LW palyer had the option to designate a landing base which was other than his take-off base. Why can't we do that any more?

Secondly, it is laughable to think that German fighters breaking contact with the bombers stream would just fly willy-nilly back to their base which had dozens of allies planes flying above it. LW fighter command would obviously warn the returning fighters of the allies planes at their base and direct them to an alternate, safe landing base.

Good game.

The problem isnt in the break of combat, even your returning planes need to cross the enemy planes and isnt strange that you can lose some planes when they are returning to base, the main problem is that sweep missions are to effective and i start to think that is more important the number of squadrons than the number of planes in the sweep.
