Got this message loading a file. Any ideas or suggestions?

single player or PBEM?
 
I lost my BTRUSER.DAT once......now I copy it somewhere save!

single player and after 2 months my G5 AS's have just come online. $%*"

What's a btruser.dat?

have you played another BTR game since than?
if not - there is always save000

Y, played a pbem which has wiped the autosave.

PM Harley......send him the file....he is maybe able to regenerate the BTRUSER.DAT file...
 
It seems to happen sometimes that this file is getting lost----but I do not know why....!

I got the same error(BTP single player). Where is the  BTRUSER.DAT located on the hard drive? save000 got corrupted too.

btruser.dat isn't needed for SP.

You can zip your save file and post it here - the tech support area support larger files.

Any news?

Sorry it's taken me so long to get to this, guys...

I found both games were recoverable, if you want them I can post you corrected files.

That said, it's not the files. It's very bizzare, but it's to do with the open-source zip/unzip code implemented. I have modified the way the game interacts with the code, and it looks good. If I load your games (with the new code), then resave them, the problem goes away (with the old code).

Go figure.

I wont even try to go figure, sounds quite beyond me , but yes, please send me the file. Thanks for your work.

I just got this message today as well playing singleplayer. Luckily I have an autosave.

Be nice. Us australians only got Battlefield:Bad Company 2 (PS3) yesterday, so we've been a little distracted. 

Is that 'bad' in the new or old sense of the word?
