No Sound Effects or Music

After installation of the game, the appropriate clicks are audible but once the opening graphics start there is no sound effects or music.

Yes, I tried going into the game itself and selecting the Sound Effect and Music options

I am thinking this is a problem concerning Windows Vista Premium Edition because I installed this game on a machine using Windows XP with no problems.

As a side note, I have the same exact problem when I installed John Tiller's Campaign Series. Works fine on Windows XP, but no sound on Windows Vista.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

but the one most people miss is here on the right side, lower set of buttons, both of those have to be turned on (clicked, green what not)

one is for sound the other for music

if these are on and you still not getting music, then it is something else

Thanks for the hint, but those were the first things I tried.

It turns out after looking through another post that the problem seems to be that on the machine I have, set up with Windows Vista Premium, that the sound effects do not work with the built in speakers.

After plugging in an external set of speakers to the headphone jack, the sound effects and music worked fine. This was also true for the copy of John Tiller's Campaign Series which had the same exact problem.

Thanks for the input

good, glad you were able to at least get it to work (I didn't know that)

(odd, must be by computer, my laptop with Vista 64 the sound works)
