This has probably been discussed altready but how will this game, War in the east, stack up against the FITE scenerio found in TOAWIII? I love all things eastern and have had many good hrs with FITE but as all good east front afficiandos know there have been some major problems with FITE once the game gets past the first winter.

Try searching on TOAW.  I got about a dozen hits doing that.

IMO there are problems with the TOAW game systems across the board... once you get into it a bit.

The scale of WitE is similar but the game is both more sophisticated and more player friendly at the same time than TOAW.

On the first count.. a matter of a game that is specific to the east front as opposed to a game that can handle any and all operational level conflicts, and also Gary Grigsby building on the previous east front games he has done.

On the second count... IMO that is a reflection on TOAW... as compared to other games like AT:WW2, which is also a very player friendly game (albeit generic moreso than historical).

Yeah... LOL... when I see TOAW it is like an alarm going off. I just ran into sooooo....
many problems ('staggering attacks problem', 'ants blocking retreats', 'no chain of command', etc, etc).... I ultimately lost count of how many I had run into.

Ug, I would rather not be negative but... let me just say that IMO you will be quite happy with WitE when it comes out (assuming you like divisional level east front games).

Whatever,
