Garrisons aren't active on detailed battles

Hey everyone, I played a huge detailed battle and noticed my "Garrisons aren't active on detailed battles." The turn never went to them. Is this right?

Yes, they first need to be activated. Anytime during your turn place the cursor directly over the garrison unit and press the "e" key. Next turn the garrison should be active.
