Possible bug.

I am almost certain that the interception of air units using recon does not cause them to take a loss. Perhaps it is applied to the attackers rather than the recon unit. I have yet to see a unit take a loss in recon, and if interception occurs you seem to be able to do the recon again anyway.

Well no - actually exactly that has indeed happened in my game against the AI as Axis (1.7 Version + hotfix) a couple of times. A unit of mine does recon, gets intercepted and loses a strengthpoint and cannot do recon again (With that unit).
Very rare indeed yes. You have to do a LOT of recon's before it happens - but it does happen.
I have 11 Fighter units and 13 Tac units in Russia doing recon every turn in my Barbarossa operation and in 3 months time this has happened altogether like maybe 2-3 maybe 4 times. So very rare. Although I must say I have tech level 3 and the Sovjets have tech level 2 - maybe that influences the interception rate as well [8|] .... however that aside - maybe the interception rate is too low? Maybe not I don't know...
But that's the input I can give...

Well I have lost a strength point in Recon several times.
Condition:
I use a weak unit.
I use a under tech unit.
I recon on a hex where an enemy airforce is located.
Most of the time I win because I am Max strength and superior technology.
Yes, if a recon unit gets intercepted and you win, you can perform recon again.
Remember after the combat, nothing is revealed so it is fair.

I think what I am seeing is the message that I "lost", but I think the enemy actually lost. I may be reading it wrong, but it looks rather "funny".
