Two simple newbie questions. . .

I'd like to purchase this game but I have two questions before I do.
I hope I am asking these questions in the right forum area. . .
1. Does this game play (well) on Windows 7 - or is this strictly a XP/Vista game?
2. If I purchase the PC Physical Shipment (hardcopy disk) edition of the game, what version will be on the disk?
Thank you all for any help/answers to these questions.
Anthony

1. Some of the developers are already using Windows 7 and they don't have any issues.
2. AFAIK it's unpatched.

I can answer point one for sure as I run under Win7 with no problems.
I suspect the version on the CD will be quite old, but I do not know this. I would recommend the download in any case. It can always be burned to a CD as a backup.

Thanks doomtrader and cpdeyoung for the information. It's very much appreciated, and is definitely helpful in getting me to buy the game.
I'm about to purchase a new computer and I wanted to be sure that the game would run on Windows 7. The "Home Premium" version will be installed and, unlike the "Professional Upgrade" version, it won't start out with the special Windows XP emulation mode.
Unfortunately I can't download the game direct since I'm in a very rural area of Wisconsin that doesn't have high-speed access.

Download is also unpatched, so you're not losing out
