GUI and FONTS are crazy small......

Guys, this looks fabulous. But I'm telling you, at 1680x1050 the interface is TOO SMALL. All those tiny little buttons. And the text is just barely readable, even with reading glasses.
Any chance there will be options for adjustable fonts and other GUI attributes? This game looks great, but I know from experience that STRAINING TO READ THE INTERFACE makes for NO FUN.

FWIW, I've played it at 1680x1050 and the font size was fine, but your mileage may vary.

I'm 55. At that age, this interface is...less than optimal. And hey, dozens of tiny buttons and tiny text is just not a good look (IMHO).

I'm 57 and occasionally have a problem with interfaces at high resolution (damn trifocals!). Sometimes you just have to suck it up and turn the resolution down a notch.

I'll be 56 in April and wear bifocals. On 1280x1024 on my 19" flat panel the fonts are playable for me. I get the same thing as tgb sometimes and have to work at it but it is not bad.

At 74 a 26 inch screen at 1920 x 1200 works well for me

TGB, I had you pegged at 27... wow, was I off. [:D]
Sherlock, where are you seeing the game at that resolution? I play at 1440x900 and the text is still rather large and the buttons are great. Like Erik said YMMV, and I would suggest that - should the ultra-high resolution be too much, you simply scale back to play the game. I know, I know... that isn't the best use of your gigantic monitor, but, like Crown of Glory: Emperor's Edition, you don't want to pass on a cool game because of resolution! [8D]

I'm 54 and my LCD monitor is at 1600x1200 and DW looks fine. My eye doctor said if I keep using this resolution, I should sit closer and use a 1.0 reading glasses. I say cram it, no glasses for me. [:D] I may be biased here though as my vision is near perfect.

As Erik said, your mileage may vary. I'm 64 and my eyes have seen better days. Small fonts would be difficult for me. That's why demos are a good idea.
And btw, how did Sherlock get ahold of the game in the first place????

Wow. At the age of 33, it seems like I'm the "old man" on a lot of forums. Here, though, I feel like a damn kid. I can't decide whether or not that's good or bad....

I'm wondering if maybe he's just going by the screenshots? If that is in fact the case, that's probably not a very good barometer of how big/small the font & buttons will look like.

I too use 1680x1050 but I must use 1.5 readers. Trifocals cause too much pain in the neck. [:(]

I'm a tester and have seen the game in action (like LarryP). AFAIK, Sherlock is not.

I don't think he's trolling; he's just a potential customer expressing concern with one relatively minor aspect of the game. Nothing wrong with that.
I *do* think he might be making a mountain out of a molehill -- since unless he is in fact a beta-tester, he can't know what Distant World's font & buttons actually look like (especially as the available screenshots probably aren't the best representation for how the actual game looks on screen) -- but I can't really blame him for being worried about it. He may be worrying more than is warranted, but it's a reasonable enough concern in and of itself.

He is NOT a beta tester. I assume he got his information like everyone else can, from the videos and from the few graphic posts.

Certainly looking at the screenshots... Those at Matrix are illegible dur to size compression, but Codeforce site has real screens at 1650*1050.
Font of the upper message zone is undoubtbly rather small and may be a bit hard to read for some ppl.
