Hey guys, I just learned about this game about 1-2 weeks ago ahd have been completely fascinated by it.
What a wonderful game. I have been playing all kinds of war games for many years (TOAW is another favorite) and was looking for something like the original Avalon Hill Squad Leader board game. Those were my favorite series.
I realized that Hasbro/Microprose put out a computerized version of Squad Leader, but read horrible things about the product.
While searching around, I found this game SPWAW. What a gem! Free too! Unbelieveable.
Well, I am reading Operation Barbarossa by Clark and enjoying playing a lot of the German/Russian scenarios and have also just downloaded the Russian Stell campaign.
I hope to be able to play some PBEM games with you guys in the future!
I live in Las Vegas, NV.

Welcome aboard, Kleaner2!
I've been hooked on SP since a co-worker dropped an evaluation copy of SP-1 on my desk to review for his web site 5 years ago. I've played SP-2, SP-3, and SP:WWII, but this version is the greatest.
Many thanks to Gary Gigsby and Keith Brors, David Heath and Paul Vebber, Wild Bill and everyone else that made this all possible.
Be sure to get your copies of the Mega Campaigns. These are the ultimate SP experience.

of SPWAW....kiss goodbye those full nights of sleep and spare time of you days off.
As Goblin & Belisarius said...come on over to the Pbem Opponents Wanted sub-forum if you are looking to get into a bar-room brawl! Lots of new blood in there just itching to fight some one.
Welcome aboard...next stop is the Home for Retired SPWAW Generals...or the insomniacs ward of your local rest home, whichever comes first.

Btw this addict will be seen in the "opponents wanted" forum next month:D So, beware goblins, dooms, M4's hellcats and others;)

Kleaner2,
Welcome aboard. There has been some discussion about the best means to spread the good word about Matrix to the unknowing. May I ask how you found out about SPWaW?
Thanks

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. I hope to play a few games with you guys in the future. Since being introduced to this game, I have been actively spreading the word about it and burning copies onto CDs for my friends (so they don't have to bother with the download) and mailing it to them.
I hope to bring a few more addicts into the circle soon.
Larry Holt -
I found this game while surfing the net looking for The Operational Art of War : Century of Warfare scenarios. On someone's personal page (can't find it any more), they listed a bunch of their favorite games, one of which was SPWAW.
