Hopefully the Calcutta Cup will be safely installed at Murrayfield rather than Twickenham by then as well.

Out of curiosity, Judge, what regiment does your avatar belong to?

Yes - I'm going to see it with my daughter so hopefully they can pull a win out the bag for us. I know Scotland are up for the wooden spoon this year (again!) but this is one of the few years I've actually thought they were seriously in with a shout of beating England. We were beat against France (but not convincingly). We threw the game away at Wales, playing the better rugby for most of the game. Italy just wear you down and did a good job (England only just beat them a couple of weeks before)...I'm begging the gods for a win come Saturday.

You yung uns just don't have no respek nowadays!! [:'(]
It does look like a Police Badge...probably more than you know. My twin brother was in the Parachute Regiment...that's probably a more exciting badge to post. We were both going to join after seing the series The Paras in 1983 after The Falklands Conflict, but I discovered quite soon after deciding it's what we wanted to do (but before we signed up) that I was petrified of heights....so he got The Paras, I got the Royal Corps of Transport!! [8|] I can assure you - he's never let me forget that either!

how did you discover you were afraid of heights?

After being for my initial interview and deciding we were going to join up.
I was a delivery boy from school...took it knowing I was going to join up, so took it for the money (which wasn't great - £35-£45 a week). I had to deliver ginger (pop/soda/juice) to houses. Anyway, one house I had to deliver to was in a multi storey block of flats. Knowing I had to jump from 800ft in the Paras from balloon, I decided to go to the top and see what it was like...almost fell off! Went real dizzy and almost fainted...decided I couldn't jump out the balloon so knew it was over. Gutted.
At my training unit in the RCT (Buller Troop - 30 Sqn Azimghur Barracks in Colerne) at some point (about 6-9 months in) we were offered a parachute jump for £30. I was persuaded to do it. I turned up at all the training, learning about the parachute and how to pack it blah, blah, blah. Come the day of the jump I got to where the plane was and walked off...couldn't do it.
Funny thing is - I KNOW it would be the most amazing feeling - parachuting/freefalling....but I'm just way too scared to do it.

i would ask whats to be so afraid of, but irrational fear is just that - ive jumped, many times, but give me a jam jar with a house spider in it and ill scream like a girl and run like a bast***

FYI, I was a gunner for 16 years, so my cap badge was similar to the RA's. ( except her we call it , hold on, RCA, same badge, though)
And no, I never volunteered to the Airborne Artillery school either. Give me a lorry, some lads, a nice mix of shells and a few targets, I'll be contented.
Cheers

Rugby looks painful! [X(]
I have a question. Do you guys call rugby football also or is that just soccer? I know it's a stupid question but if I don't ask I'm not gonna know! [:)]

rugby = rugby football union = rugby union
or
rugby = rugby league (a similar but different game)
football = football (also known as soccer, tough not on this side of the atlantic!)
or
football = gaelic football (not known as soccer)

Strange thing with heights....I cant stand on a ledge(heart goes crazy) and have some serious issues looking out a window from high up..never had this problem till we went rapelling in high school.....But, I have no issues flying of any sort..I actually love it....

Yeah likewise. Spent a few years doing aerial photography, hanging out the side door of a cenica held in by a lap belt with no real worries. Spent last weekend helping load a ship and there was a very real hesitation to get too close to the railing and look down at the harbour or the quay
