How do you make use of sea plane tenders?

When creating a TF to put them in, what type of TF is to be used? I find that most TF types will not list the AV's as a choice.

Find a quiet island (make sure it's yours). Send some supplies. Send the sea plane tenders there (Transport TF, IIRC). Send in the search a/c.
I use replenish

I usually use the Replenish mission, since it is easy to tell that TF sitting next to Buin is an AV, not a transport mission that won't unload. Replenish is more correct for its operations, as well.

How to use tenders

This is what I've been doing...
Send the tender to the desired location (esp level 0 bases). I generally use a transport TF, but it doesn't really matter. Throw some supplies in. Then select the float plane unit (from the tender or any other floatplanes) and transfer it to the base the tender is at. You don't need base units because the tender provides it. If you look at the base display, the air support will say something like 0+9, meaning the tender is providing the support. You can also take advantage of the free support by just parking it in a port to provide support for land-based planes.
That's all there is to it. Make sure you dock the Tender so it doesn't run out of fuel. And be sure to return your planes before you leave, otherwise any damaged planes get left behind.
You don't need to restrict yourself to the Tender's planes (if any), you can support PBY's or grab the float planes off a cruiser or battleship.

They will only support seaplanes (floatplanes & patrol). They will not benefit land based aircraft or the level of aviation support for them. (page 112)
They will remove any seaplanes from relying on the base aviation support, thus freeing up the extra regular support for more land planes (as I read it).

Ah, quite correct. That manual's pretty handy.
