Thank you, Smintar! I had wondered whatever became of the "Take Command" development team. I'm really excited for this release. I just finished reading Stephen W. Sears' fantastic "Gettysburg", and I'm pumped to do some virtual battle at Gettysburg.

Is it just me, or does it look a lot like Divided Nation?

I have been waiting for this one....hope they really do make it available by end of month. Just curious, anyone know the following:
1) Cost of the game
2) What kind of activation/DRM (assuming this is download only)
Thanks!

I was just reading an old post from the Devs, I didn't see a price, but it appears u d/l the demo, which is the game, (the Dev's words) and if you like it u purchase it and and get unlocking key. Just need to be connected to the internet once for activation, Sounds easy enough to me[:)]

Looked at forum in link DRM mentioned page 3...i don't think it's set in stone
They asked fans..Which method do you like better 1 or 2?
Anyway...(1)Reg code activate/deactivate....if you lose your drive with activated app contact NSD to reactivate.
(2)Or recieve a reg code to install..5 installs..on 5 machines if you like
..then your done..once your out your out. NSD may reset your 5 activations at there discretion.
Cost no clue?

Personally I'd love to see two price versions. A regular version DD at $39.95 and then a collectors version with a pewter Lee or Meade and/or a laminated map of Gettysburg and the surrounding area like SSI put in their Gettysburg:The Turning Point game back in the 80's. A color printed manual along with a brief history booklet of the battle and outcomes. I'd pay $59.95 or perhaps $69.95 for all of that. I already know that's not going to happen but it would be nice.

Huh, I had never even known of Divided Nation's existence, until your comment prodded me to do a google search. Is DH worth getting?

They don't even need to improve the graphics from Manassass and it will be a big hit regardless. It's the best real time combat engine out there.

Probably worth getting now,
When I first got it paid about $40, typical, you can now usually find it in the bargain games at Walmart, Best Buy etc for about $9.99. The graphics on the Gettysburg site seemed pretty close to me, especially the way the troop formations lined up and extended into fences, trees etc. Game is kind of fun, but like many real time games, it can become difficult to monitor the whole battlefield and get your troops to places and in formation in time. Also trying to set up some of the non-battle building, tents, headquarters, etc. can be frustrating. Old grognards like me have trouble being fast enough in real time I guess.

288MB. Note, it takes about 5 seconds to launch the game after you've hit the Demo button so be patient
