Tutorial not as described in manual

I've played most of the Harpoon versions over the years and just got ANW. The Using Sensors tutorial and Using Weapons tutorial are not playing out as described in the manual. The first airliner in Sensors never appears and the second air contact in Weapons is not there. Is this a problem with my install or should I just ignore it and play through?

The problems you see have already been reported. You can check out:

Also, be aware of some of these other bugs in the tutorials:

If you haven't done it already, download and install the patch for the:
Complete Harpoon ANW Library
and use the
PlayersDB tutorials we've already repaired as best we can. They may not be perfect, but they will give you the
least number of problems. Switch over with the Database Manager function.
Welcome aboard, shipmate.[8D]

Search output 309
Search input -1703
Track output 369
Track input -1823 Is the power of sensor ? ... If yes, how i may calculate her ?
Passive input
Please, explain me on example AN/SPG-34 g.f.c - database HUD3, number this sensor #2

Howdy Granit,
That is the sensitivity of the sensor while tracking. You can look up the annex field definitions in the database editor manual under the Documentation folder in the ANW start menu shortcuts.
The track input field is the sensitivity while 'painting' the target. The search input the sensitivity of detecting that target.
As for how to calculate them, it really depends on how capable you want the sensor versus the platforms of their database according to their cross sections. While the One True Way is set in the game engine, it is not so simple (but is proprietary). Instead, look at the cross sections of that database as well as other sensors to get a feel of what numbers give you what performance that you expect.
I'd ask the database editors to chip in here to share some of their wisdom.
Thanks,

I understand that you are trying to simulate a T-50 PAK-FA fighter. This was recently added the the PlayersDB. If you like, you can see how it works for you.
Harpoon ANW users can get the
Complete Harpoon ANW Library
This is only one interpretation/estimation of how the fighter might conceivably work. Of course, other database editors are bound to have different values.

Granit,
For the HUD3, I long long ago introduced the use of a spreadsheet that converts the range figures given for radar systems in the Harpoon miniatures data annexes.
In nearly all cases the radar ranges in the HUD3 attempt to match the miniatures values that Larry Bond and Chris Carlson specify. I am also very lucky to receive regular updates from Larry of the latest Official values. You used the following example:
Search output 309
Search input -1703
Track output 369
Track input -1823 Is the power of sensor ? ... If yes, how i may calculate her ?
Passive input
Read Search Output as "Search Power Output" ie the amount of energy the radar pumps out and is used for ESM detection of the actively radiating system as well as determining along with the Search Input function value.
Search Input is the ability to detect the reflected energy from the illuminated target.
Track Output & Track Input are the same as the two search functions, but are used when the radar is illuminating a target for Fire Control functions.
Passive Input is not used for radars but details the sensitivity of an ESM system when detecting an emitting radar system.
I'd be happy to pass along the Spreadsheet that develops the values for use in the ANW database. Simply send me a PM with your email address and I'll forward the file to you.
Cheers
Darren
