Dr. Carl Sagan and Dr. Michio Kaku are great.
Their teachings can help to continue to inspire the expansion of Human understanding of the Universe and Multiverse.

Dr. Carl Sagan is and was great.

I still love to watch his 'Cosmos' shows that have been updated with new images, animation, and graphics. I sometimes get relaxed and fall unintentionally asleep listening to his voice and the 'Cosmos' piano music. Of course, when I watch it, it's often at night.

Hi Wade1000,

Yep, I grew up watching Cosmos on PBS and was very greatly influenced by it. I hold a very special place in my heart for Dr. Sagan and the Cosmos series. I mean I was VERY influenced by it. It changed my outlook on a lot of things. It was probably the single greatest thing that encouraged me into taking philosophy in college. I remember in high school putting down that I wanted to be a physicist all because I enjoyed Cosmos so much. Later I realized that a philosopher was really what I wanted to be.

Anyway, I agree, Cosmos was and still is a great series. I don't watch a lot of TV anymore but I wonder if there have been any series in the past few decades as inspiring as Cosmos was to me.

RIP Dr. Sagan, and thank you for sharing such a splendid view of our universe with me. You made the world a much more spectacular phenomena. [:)]

While shooting the series, Sagan was also very "under the influence".

Really? I didn't know he was into drugs. Having studied philosophy, biographical trivia of great personalities doesn't fascinate me much.

From his trademark "billions and billions" to his spacious nostrils, Sagan was lampooned by every late-night talk show host on TV; although his high wasn't as obvious as that of a former "Charlie's Angel" on David Letterman, Sagan was definately "spaced out" for "Cosmos".

Damn! I didn't notice Sagans nostrils! Had I only noticed them. What a waste my whole life has been! [:D]

There is only anecdotal evidence that it has been helpful for billions and billions of DNAS victims.

My favourite was the Arms Race Analogy.

"two men standing waist deep in gasoline; one with three matches, the other with five....trying to out produce the other in match sticks"

SNL spoof.
