I feel the developers lied to us.

Ok, I feel lied to right now. I can understand no demo because it takes resources away from developing the game. But now I read there are tuturials in the game? WTF!?! You can make a turturial but not use that tuturial as the demo? What a crock of (I can't say it).

You telling me that a tuturial that is already made, can't be made into a demo? I just feel so lied to right now.

I don't mind you can't do something because of no resources or what not, but I feel if you had the resources to make a tuturial, that tuturial could have been the demo to try out. So I think the developers or who ever said, they didn't have resources to make a demo lied to us.

There isn't enough time to do everything, our budget and time are far from unlimited. We instead provided videos, AARs, preview articles and personal involvement on this forum from the developer, publisher and tester answering questions and posting info. IMHO that's as good as a demo.

I disagree with u Davor.
Having a tutorial in a full game and making, packing, testing a demo(even if only the same content as the tutorial) are two very very different things.

Very true, acantoni. It's a lot of additional work, to be frank, because releasing a demo that doesn't do its job is worse than no demo for certain.

If your worried about liking a game I always check out what others say about it....I can base it on that..sometimes demos dont do a game justice...

Davor,

Chill out dude, there will be plenty of us who buy and play the game this weekend and I promise there will be AARs. I will try and do an AAR as well, have been itching to do my first one and DW is a good first try I think.

And your mad that there is no demo before release, few games have demos pre-release, then just buy the game.

Oh I am chilled. Just you know when you read one word sentences and they say resources could be put to better use. Maybe there is more into making the tuturial into a demo than I thought. Maybe it's easier for bigger companies to do it, and not for Matrix. How small is Matrix, or the company that made DW?

Yes I rather have you guys participate on the forums wich is one of the reasons why I am buying this game as soon as I can. I find this a BIG PLUS, but I just didn't know making a demo took so much.

Sorry I didn't mean to sound like I was bitching or something like that. That wasn't my intent.

Ok, thanks Davor, understood. As far as size goes, I'm sure we are smaller than you think, but I don't know who you might have been comparing us to. We always try to punch above our weight class, I'll put it that way and while we are not able to do everything as far as promotional flash that some of the "big dogs" can do we do our best to make our interaction with our customers more personal. We feel that within our niche, we understand our customers and these kinds of strategy games better than anyone else.

I guess I kept seeing EA, or Atari, or Take 2 and thought everyone was like them.

Now that I see how offical people are here to report so fast to a question, that beats any demo you can get.

Stick with Matrix, their service is second to none, and sometimes Erik goes away (hopefully this Easter) and we get to play on the forum argueing about politics etc... until he comes back and swings the big stick.....[&o]

I'll be civil now. I promise

Well done on the release.

I compare Matrix Games more to Battlefront and Shrapnel and Matrix is bigger than both put together imo. Yet those two manage to have demos for virtually every game they publish. I like demos. It tells me the game will run on my system and gives me an idea of how the game plays. That said, I have bought games from Battlefront and Shrapnel after trying the demo but more from Matrix without one. So I guess it doesn't really matter much.
