Hi

I am wondering what's the best Korean wargame to buy? I've played WW2 games to death it's time for something new.

There isn't a whole lot.

WinSPMBT is free, squad level turn based
Squad Battles, not free but same as above

The future version of John Tiller's Campaign Series here at Matrix will have it.

A guy at the blitz is modding HPS Modern Campaigns Korea 85 to Korea 50.

There's also a Korea game in the HPS Squad Battles series, so if tactical is your thing, that's a possibility.

I'd start with TOAW III as it has three different Korean War scenarios, if I recall correctly.

It's actually a remake of a game published by Game Designers' Workshop, BTW.

As to computer games with a Korean War theme, my favorite is Mig Alley. The avionics and weaponry are easy enough to pickup, so you pretty much just fly your aircraft. This puts it in pretty stark contrast to sims like Falcon 4, and it had a campaign game to die for. After all these years, it's hard to believe that developers still struggle so mightily with a wheel which it appears has already been invented.

From HPS there is also Korea 85 - Modern Campaigns series.

And ProSim's Raging Tiger.

But both are hypothetical "Second Korean War" games.

You might want to have a look at the Korean War Era games at MobyGames.

The Gamers did a very good board game that you might be able to snaffle on ebay of boardgamegeek:

I would go with MASH,you can be Hawkeye or even Frank Burns.Its an rpg though not realley a wargame
