Hi,

I found one abandoned ship and a message popped up to investigate it and I did. Afterward I received the abandoned ship and a location to the middle of no where.

I went to this location in an exploration ship and it was a "Dacshii Arm Weapons Testing Range" and it contained 5 abandoned ships.

Can I claim these these ships foe my own? One has a hyper blck, but I do not know how to board or capture them. Just getting close did not trigger an investigation window.

Do I need a special ship to claim these abandoned ships, or is capturing them not even possible?

If they aren't in working order,I think you need a construction ship to repair or deconstruct them. I vaguely remember a pop up telling so when I found one "precursor battle cemetary", but the game crashed shortly after ...

A construction ship repairs them, once repaired they are yours.

I actually found a working (but abandoned) asteroid mining facility and was able to move right in and immediately start production. Seems you have a random chance of it being in working order or not.

Abandoned ships and bases are divided by operational and damaged types. If you see a dotted carcass - bring a constructor to repair it. If you see an intact ship - any ship under your control will activate as soon as it get`s into range.

Abandons mostly have a popup window that always says what sort of action you need to do (or in case of auto-acquiring a message that you have taken it). If there is no such window - it means that you need to repair it first. Be warned though that damaged stations and ships tend to be guarded and will require some military ships to be assigned as escorts for your constructors.

A bad thing is that you do not get any warning about detecting such things. This is doesn`t impact on auto-mated explorers, but makes manual exploration a bit different on larger scale games.

I found damaged pirateship, being naive, I thought they'de be nice to me if I helped them. I repaired the ship, the moment they fired up their engines they destroyed my construction ship. I'm much more paranoid now with broken ships...

Ha I found an abandoned ship and when I investigated it blew up on me my damaging my explorer ship!

On a similar note, I have a repeating blue expanding circle "pinging" in deep space. An independent world told me to go check on it ("it's something of interest"), but I can't seem to have any of my explorer ship "get a lock" on anything (like when you order them to go explore a star). It's as if nothing is there. I've made several passes through that space with ships, but no reaction. Curious... Anyone got any ideas?

I used the contrustion ship to repair an abandoned ship...after that, the window pop-up near it only for a second and then disappears before i can do anything. Going backward and forward again do that same. Pop window disspears within a second preventing me from doing anything. Is anyone having this issue?
