I really like DW! Its a great game so I decided to post about DW on theescapist.com and maybe try to get more people to buy it.

Thats what i posted and everybody so far has replied with "your a spam-bot" or "this looks like advertising" It really their loss I think missin out on such an awesome game!

It’s best simply to ask people what they think. Something like anyone here playing Distant Worlds? What do you think good bad indifferent?

If they’re interested they’ll start talking about the game and ask for a link if they need one.

I've discussed Distant Words at other forums where I've linked to this forum and Matrix's homepage. However, I do agree that short enthusiastic posts do have the "spam bot" feel. I, too, would recommend more of the "this is what I'm playing and this is why I'm playing it" type of post. They may remain negative, but a few may follow the link, and at least, you can't reasonably be said to be a spammer or viral marketeer.

Tyranicus, maybe tone down the exuberance (though it's appreciated) and maybe say something like "So I'm playing this cool game and wondering if anyone else is playing it?" or some such.
