What is the best Resolution Used?

I am just curious what is the highest resolution people are playing with......I have a old monitor so stuck at 1280 X 1024

My monitor is on 1680x1050 and I don't recall seeing a setting in game to change the res. I think it automatically uses what your desktop is set at. I say 1280x1024 should be a perfect res to run the game. Sometimes I have a hard time seeing some text and stuff at the 1680.

I was just curious if anyone was using one of those monster monitors and such. Not even sure if there is a setting to change resolution or if it auto sets resolution at game start.

I'm using a monster monitor (30 inches), and I run my desktop at 1920x1200. I'm not sure what resolution the game is running at. I'll try changing desktop resolution to see if that affects anything.

I have a 27" running 1920x1200. Besides the blurry fonts its great. And it uses your desktop resolution.

The game uses the resolution of your display settings.

I use 1920x1080 though I´m already considering to lower the resolution a bit again.
There is one issue with this resolution that gets annoying over time, when you don´t play the grand campaign but
the Guadalcanal scenario: the width of the scenatio map is less than 1980 pixels which results in some erratic
jumps and dificulties on unit selection.

Using 1920x1080 here. One thing I did was to enable Cleartype, this made the fonts look much better.

22 inch wide screen, 1680 by 1050 pixels maximum.
It's my first widescreen. I've had it for a few years now. It's very enjoyable. Before it I had the old more square(non flat panel) monitor.

In your screen settings window there should be an option to chose anti-aliasing. Pick Cleartype.

I am on a 30" at 2560x1600.
The game looks pretty sharp though the font is a little small, and a lot of the popup window infos are cramped when they could expand to take advantage of all the extra screen real estate.

Nice, I was mainly just getting a feel if it worked and looked good on the "uber" monitors........income tax refund arrived and may have to make the wife even madder with a small upgrade.[X(]
Already a little iff'ed that I bought another time consuming game from Matrix........She over looks the fact that she got her new laptop and a new living room set.[8|]

I tried it at 2560x1600 on my 30-inch, and the font size was a bit small for my taste. Going to try going back to 1920x1200.
Is this Cleartype option an in-game option, or a Windows setting?

Its is a windows setting. If you are using Vista or 7 it is possible on by default.

It's certainly fine on a 50" TV screen looked at from a distance of 1 yard [:'(], but it's pretty unreadable on a 17" laptop screen with an HD res (1920*1080) or even a bit less (like 1600*stg)... Please add a "bigger font" option !!
