Hi there everyone,
I have not done this before and i might actually give away some info here on the next title i am working on... but i seriously need some help finding some pictures.
Believe me that i have searched a lot already and couldnt find these. Its amazing but a lot of WW2 Corps level generals seem to have been lost completly in obscurity. Of course not the German ones! But especially Belgian and French and also some British Generals.
I am looking for pictures of the following generals:
British, September 1940
GOT ALL BRITISH
Belgian, May 1940
GOTTA BELGIAN GUY ON THIS.
III corps, Joseph de Krahe
IV Corps, Andre Bogaerts
VI Corps, Fernand Verstraete
French generals
SOMEBODY IS HELPING ME MAIL THE FRENCH ARMY MUSEUM
XLI Corps, Emmanuel-Urbain Libaud
X Corps, Pierre-Paul Gransard
XVIII Corps, Eugene-Jules Rochard
If anybody can help me here it will be immensly appreciated and if you want you will be credited.
Thanks to 82nd trooper for finding Thorne, Fonblanque and Massy.
Some-one else in the meantime helped me to Bloch, Martin and Boris.
Best regards,
Vic

Have to say it's mighty difficult to find one, especially the French and Belgian generals. It might be impossible to find the right ones, then you could put a generic "staff picture" in place?
I mean, I just spend an hour searching for the French generals without succes [:(]

Concerning the French generals, I tried searching sites written in english... maybe I should've tried a search in French. But as I am pretty bad in the French language... don't know if that will give any results. Maybe "Balder" can ask for some pictures on his french forum, he's French after all.

Go see strategium site and the mod33 for Heart Of Iron.
http://www.strategium-alliance.com
http://www.strategium-alliance.com/Mod-HoI33-pour-Doomsday-entierement-en-francais-193.4686.0.html
They must have the most complet list of picture for the french armies.
If not, you could ask some help in the associated forum.
Balder post this AAR in the forum.

good idea. however i dont speak french nor have i got HOI3 installed. If somebody with HOI3 installed could take a look to see if the missing officers can be found it would be appreciated. My email is
vic@xs4all.nl
Or if somebody who speaks french could post the request for the pictures on my behalf on the forum in question it would be appreciated too.
best regards,
vic

Vic,
What is your time line? I doubt I can be of much use, but I will make the effort to check out some offline sources within the next couple of weeks.

well... i would like to get the pictures within a couple of weeks.
once i find one i am removing it from the list in this thread so double searching work is evaded.
let me know if you find something.

Vic,
I haven't made it to my university's library yet, so I've been of no help. It's about 20 miles away and I haven't had the chance to search theree. The local libraries, which you have probably also tapped in the Netherlands, have come up null. I think you need a Belgian and a French person to help out.
I'll still try as long as the thread is not updated, but I'm getting the strong sense that history erases the photographs, memories and images of those who participated in a defeat.

I get the feeling that a person will need to start contacting family members to get any material.
