First off trying to save a big game last night... I got some error and game went to the distant worlds main menu which was a bummer. Sadly it was pretty late so i didnt think to grab the error..

Save says its now not a valid distant worlds game file.No surprise

But the save before that one wont load either..

It says

there was not enough memory to load this Distant Worlds game. Please close all other open applications and try again. Working Set: 934944768 bytes

I have 3.5gigs of Ram so im not sure what the issue is..

ahh kk anything i can do to avoid this for now? Or must stick to a smaller game for now?

All I can tell you is that the devs are working on it. It may be fixed in the next patch, or in the one after, but I think the devs cannot set a date yet for the fix of this bug. So all you can do is to start another game and be patient...

Just got it too... I think I lost some years in the process. x)



My second serious game, and it has problems too, tss tss, bugged game.

EDIT = Huh, yeah, btw, huge galaxy, few pirates, few monsters, 19 other civilizations at least, I think, something like 30 years into the game.

Got that out of memory error too for the first time. I did notice the save took a stupendous long time to.. well save. Damn though, was a good game I had going[:(].

Enjoying this game VERY much! Just wanted to add, though, that I cannot save any game when I play sandbox mode with maximum stars and 19 races. In fact, I don't even get error messages...I simply press the save button and it takes me instantly right back to the game without saving. I did try loading a smaller universe with only 12 races and all seems to work well.
