New Flags

Hey all! I'm a bit of an artist and I love modding games. I've created a .wmf vector image for a new flag. I know I can overwrite one of the default flags to add mine in, but I'd like to add it, rather than overwrite it.

I'd love to know how to add to the flagshapes index, either way I've uploaded the .wmf file that should go in the "...Distant Worlds/images/ui/flagshapes" folder but you should probably rename flag39.wmf to flag38.wmf so you can revert the changes if you want. I've also attached a screenshot.

Image

The symbol is a native american symbol (so yes, very human-centric) that represents the presence of man/woman, his/her work, his/her acheivements, his/her legacy. I thought it would be fitting for Distant Worlds.

The wmf is a little rough and edgy because exporting from ai (illustrator) to wmf was a pain, it kept getting corrupted. I'll reupload if I can figure out why it was going sour.

I am all about adding our own custom flag in addition to the ingame ones, love your addition btw. Hopefully it will be supported in a future update.

Right now you can only replace flags. We'll look to add support for adding flags in the future.

Erik any chance they can not use the WMF file format for the flags. It is a royal pain to work with wmf. [:@]

Like radhamant I am having issues even with a dedicated EPS converter.

Is there anyway to add an "overlay" to the flags, such as an alpha map with dark gradients to make the flags appear more "wavy" and soft, rather than completely flat?

Also, will we ever get to have white as a main color, and ships that use your primary empire color? :)
