Bug List

Defect 1: TF pathfinder algorithm crosses land (see savegame I sent you).

Defect 2: Incorrect confirmation message on returning a Bombardment TF to an allied base.

Defect 3: Inauthentic air-ground combat results. Maybe not a bug, but worth looking at this.

Defect 4: Sometimes changing an Air Mission does not change the mission, e.g. assigning an air group to Recon Target Y, you change it to Target Z and while in the info screen is says as its target Target Z, it still recons Target Y. Recon missions have been the only missions I have noticed this in.

Defect 5: Sometimes different Air Groups use the range radii of other aircraft on the base, e.g. a Zero with the range of a Nell that it shares the base with. I consequently see Zeros flying very long range air strikes. This could be related to 3. above, as they are attacking Target Z from that example.

Defect 6: A bug exists where bases launch up to twice their aircraft type available, I have seen raids of 37 and 56 Zeros from a base where only 23 were available in the air group and that was the only Zero air group on the base (all these raids managed to reach hexes 2-3 times the extended range of the aircraft).

Defect 7: Combat Messages talk about "Armor Belt Penetration" when recording hits of submarines which would not be armored against depth charges. This message is also used for APs, Tankers and other ships which may not all have Belt Armor.

Defect 7a: Hit penetrations generally are often incorrect. Dive bombers often get belt hit penetrations, point blank surface ship engagements get deck hit penetrations etc. The worst example I've seen is a PT boat getting a Deck Hit Penetration on a DD at 1000yds with it's paltry AA gun.

Defect 8: Many CS task forces from Truk will abort their missions after only one days sailing and return - see other thread in main forum.

I've seen the same results in both aerial to ship and ship to ship combat. I had two CA's, a CL and two DD's intercept a landing force at Gili-Gili, who were escorted by IJN Furutaka and Kinugasa. During the combat, virtually every shell hit on any ship resulted in both a penetrating armor comment and critical damage. I saw this with 8" shells, 5" shells, 6" shells, 4.7" shells, and 3" shells, and it didn't matter what ship or where it hit.

The same results took place in aerial attacks. It didn't matter if the target was a carrier, heavy cruiser, or destroyer, or a 500# bomb, 250kg bomb, or 1000# bomb. All had penetrating armor hits and critical damage results. Torpedoes had the same result, but that made more sense.

The image of a submarine taking a depth charge hit and still functioning after "critical damage" is kind of unusual, but I suppose this could have been from the attacking ship's viewpoint.
