[1.0.3 public beta] Expansion planner

Just started a game with the beta patch. I tend to queue up a few initial mining areas and a colony or so before I let the automation mostly take over, and when I opened the expansion planner, the 'resource locations by empire priority screen was empty. After a few minutes of play, the list finally showed up, was missing a few odd things. (specifically a gas giant in my starting system that had hydrogen and caslon, both of which I quickly need in large quantities.) The list only had about 12 things, vs the 75-100 the galaxy priority list had. is this a bug, or working as intended?

Edit: 20-30 mins in, the expansion planner is working as I expected. still odd that it doesn't at game start. Love all the little tweaks to make things easier in 1.0.3 btw.

The expansion planner for resources needed by your empire does only show resources that your empire needs. In the beginning there is a huge stock of standard resources on your planet and maybe the other resources, that you need are not discovered yet. So it is normal that no/only few resources are shown in the beginning.

Yeah, you need to wait for your initial exploration info to come. I always set an explorer to explore my home system right away and the rest to nearby.

problem is, the home system is already well explored, and I show a demand for the gasses from the planet not showing. I'm starting off as a 'young' empire, so i've got 2 colonies in my home system, and have explored all the planets in my system, as well as a couple other systems nearby. The expansion planner just hasn't figured out wtf is going on at the start of the game, and takes a while to catch up.
