I finally made the decision to purchase DW.

I have DW + 1.03 installed. One thing I notice is the game takes a long time to load after I click on the DW shortcut. It takes 70 seconds. Is this normal or is there a problem?

My system: Del XPS2 Laptop 2GB RAM Pentium 2GHz XP with SP2

Alas, normal. Consider yourself lucky it loads so quickly.

70 Secs sounds about right.  Agreed it does take a long time and I have a faster computer than you. 

Actually, I'm wondering if it's more a by-product of using .NET framework I've noticed alot of programs using it have a slow start time, IIRC it's to do with something the framework does when a program starts (even my own ones when I used to make them) I do believe it can be disabled with little side-effect, unfortunately I can't say much further, it's been quite some time since I did any .NET programming

mine takes about 20-25 seconds...but then my system is state of the tech [8D] if you're playing the biggest map, and you're in the game for a llloonnng time, loading a savegame takes longer. [:D]

I think Elliot et al is on the case with this one too. Should be addressed in an update at some point.
