Exploration ships stop doing useful work, once the resource status of all planets/asteroids is known

SPOILERS ahead.
There is a special event that lets you get the resource information about every celestial object in the game. When this happens, there isn't left much for the exploration ships to do, or so they think. A few gas clouds they will stil fly to, and that's it.
What exploration ships then fail to do is manyfold:
Exploring ancient ruins is a particular pain, as there is no good way of discriminating the explored and unexplored ones that I know of.
Edit: I now think this is more a feature request than a report about a game issue. I posted something in the master wishlist thread. (There are issues about exploration of ancient ruins and looking for pirates and space monsters respectively.)

What exploration ships then fail to do is manyfold:
- Ruin locations will be known, but you have to direct explorers (or other ships) manually to explore them, trigger the special effects.
- Without flying to a system, nothing will be known about potential space monsters or pirates there. This I also regard as a typical mission for exploration ships.
- Special locations and abandoned ships could also be dealt with by automated explorers instead of needing a ship sent manually.
