Haven't seen anything posted about this yet, but pretty sure its a bug.

Received a report one of my mining stations was under attack. At first glance, didn't see anything until the stations shields started dropping. [&:]

No graphics or sounds associated with the pirate, but obviously hits are being registered.

Was thinking its possibly a Cloaking device, but if thats the case, awfully early in my game (1-2 years on slow tech) to be seeing those flying around I would think. [8|]

Uploaded a save file to the server.

I don't think cloaking devices can DO that, they only affect detection range. Even with 99% cloak, a 40K proximity sensor would be able to see you at 400 range, which is still mid-long-range for weapons. Not that you will HAVE weapons if you have 99% cloak on a ship, if it's even possible. Is this 1.03? There's still a ghost ship issue in 1.03, so you're probably being fired upon by a ghost ship. Occasionally, a ship that is gruesomely destroyed will hang around as a ghost, firing on things near it, and causing you to be put back in contact with extinct empires when you encounter it, if it belonged to an empire. It can also occasionally end up off the map entirely, so if you conquer the empire or otherwise acquire their ship somehow, such as a pirate surrender, the ship will be stuck somewhere off the map and crash the game if you try to select and go to it.

Yea, I thought about that a bit later.

As far as version, I'm running 1.04 Beta 2.

Looking through my logs, I found that the ship that was attacking me was one that I had found as a derelict, pirate ambush encounter. Wasn't any damage on it that I was aware of.

Once I even reloaded and found the ship attacking a colony in the same system just after it finished with the mining stations. I wasn't able to reproduce this though.
