Checking the turn history

At is realy nice game and I become addicted realy fast[:)]. As a matter of fact it is so addicted then sometimes I cannot wait for a turn to come to look at what my oponents did[:D]. And the problem is - when you open the turn you must play it to the end of the turn. And it takes sometimes more than an hour or two.
So the question is - is there any way that turn may be opened, and history looked, and turn closed in a way that it wont affect FOW or have any influence on the game.
Example - I was in my office, have 1 hour free and I open the turn ( not becouse I have hour free, but becouse I was so curious about the game ). I was hoping that I will be able to play a turn in an hour. But I look at the history, and then I was distracted from the game[:@]. Then time come so I msut leave the office, so I was forced to reopen my turn. And I hate when things like this happened.
So can it be arranged that a turn may be oppened just to see history??

What about saving a copy and then opening that?

My understanding is that if you are using any of the following settings: passwords, anti-PBEM cheat, or Terror Anti-PBEM cheat, the way Vic has programmed the game, once you open a file, you cannot close it without getting a message next time the file is opened by any of the players saying possible cheat has occurred.
I'm not certain if that happens if you copy the file first, and open only one of the copies.

Pretty sure it does happen even with a copy of the saved game file. I also agree with cveta that it would be nice if we were able to "save" a pbem game mid turn and re-open it without tripping off the cheat alarms.

Does the game not need two possibilities here?
On the one hand PBEM demands security; on the other hand use of Advanced Tactics as a campaign manager requires that files can be opened and modified.

I belive you got me wrong. I never sed anything about copy or modifaying the files. I was thinking about chance to download file, start the game and check for turn history without playing the game. So game should be modifayed to have a option to ask a player for a password after the history check is done.
Example - WAW scenario uses approximatly 2 or more hours to be done. You got the turn, and you dont have 2 hours, but you just wont to check history. You cannot do it. So it will be nice if you may check it without actualy play or interfere in the turn in any way, just to look at history.

and that's precisely what they were talking about - you load the save-file, input password, take a look at production and losses, any events, then check history, SAVE GAME and exit. Hell, you might even begin to play, then look at the time, see that you have to go, SAVE the GAME and return to it when you DO have the time.
Essentially: checking the history is a part of playing the the turn - as you check out what happened in the opponent's turn.
The only thing I wonder about here is why do you need an hour to check history???

I for one agree with Cveta. It would be nice that some kind of player (history) could be programed so that one can view the turn, exit the game without saving and not getting message of 2x times loading next time...
Or some kind of independant viewer outside of game... just for watching turn...
+maybe being able to see what your ally see to?

The easiest way is to just not use PBEM protection and no passwords. Then you can open and close the file as many times as you like.
You just have to trust your opponent not to cheat ie keepopening the games to find where your units are, get better attack results.
But if you think your opponent would cheat this way, I'd find another opponent.
I won't play with cheaters. It's just a game, be a man and take your lumps![:-]

I am playing WAW with password on, PBEM anticheat off and can open the turn many times without warning to the other player
