Per the rules, a task force of ships (1+ ships in a task force) can do the following:
- Move together from a port to a seabox (note - submarines can start together in a port and spread to multiple sea zones in a single naval move);
- Move together from a seabox to a port;
- Move together from a seabox to a lower seabox in the same sea zone.
So the program doesn't let you move from one sea zone to stop in another because the (boardgame) rules don't allow it.
I hope that helps. Any more questions or clarifications, please don't hesitate to ask.

Wow, I never read the rule that way. I read it as moving the task force from a port to a sea box that happens to be in a sea zone different than the port. Are you saying, for example that a Japanese fleet moving from Tokyo to the 2 box of the Hawaiian Islands must go there one ship at a time?
Edit -- oh wait -- I see he means moving from a box in a sea zone to a box in another sea zone --- that's a no-no.

You can but only if the original movement stars from a port.
1 -In WIF, the boardgame (and it should be like that in the computer game) you can start at a port and go as many sea zones as the ship or the fleet is allowed to (as a group if fleet, it means as the "lower autonomy" unit).
2 -Or you can start at sea and move through some sea zones and end in a port.
3 -You can also go one (or more?) levels down inside
the same sea zone if you want.
But you cannot move between sea zones except in the case 1 or 2. No movement from a ship or fleet that was in a sea zone from the previous impulse can go to another sea zone except in the way to abort it to a port.

I recommend that you download the FAQ available at the ADG site as well.
It can be difficult to learn all the rules and looking if a question is already answered is at times an easier way to understand the relevant rule.

You can activate fog of war from the options menu prior to setup, but if you're playing solitaire and you have a decent memory, it's not going to make much difference.

Dear friends[;)] a question can a good able experienced player playing Germany defeat Poland with also a good able experienced player historical, meaning defeating Poland in the sept. oct. turn on your board game or does it take luck of the dice roll and has any player ever done it.

Poland is usually conquered in the S/O turn. On occasion the German player will deliberately only hit Poland lightly in order to do other things first such as take out Yugoslavia and/or hit Denmark and The Netherlands and Belgium in S/O with a lot of force. The weather can make this a risky operation.

Germany should be able to defeat Poland in 1 turn (of course there are multiple impulses in the turn). The only reason they might not be able to do that is if they commit too many units to hold off France. By placing the reserve units along the French border, a minimal number of the starting units need to be assigned in the west. Germany should make only
very good attacks against Poland, and focus on Warsaw and the factories (Lodz). Once those have been captured, units that are still face up should be shifted west to take out the Lowlands and France. Denmark can be captured during the first turn (3rd impulse) by positioning an infantry unit that can move 4 on the Danish border.

You must be making too much low odds attacks.
Being "turned over" when you roll low is normal, the lowest the odd ratio, the highest must you roll to stay face up and keep attacking.

This is not Commander Europe at War or Panzer Gerneral where you attack everything just because you are adjacent to it. You need to slaughter the picket units at overwhelming odds and then attack Lodz and Warsaw with the best odds possible.
Poland can be taken out with 2/3rds of the German Army very effectively, as long as you don't get atrocious weather for impulses 3, 5 and 7.

Yes.
In WIF, weak units are impotent and do not need to be feared as counter-attacking units. For example, Poland cannot muster any reasonable attacks against the Germans unless the Germans leave a very weak unit alone in a hex.

Bo,
Take a look at the Case White AAR thread on the third page of this forum. It show, with maps and units, an example of the attack on Poland and it also has some discussion about the campaign there.

In Commander Europe at War (or CEAW - GS) I would advise against attacking everything you're adjacent to. To take Poland out by September 21 (or two turns) you also need to execute overwhelming combined air and land attacks on "picket" Polish corps and push next to Warsaw on turn 1 in order to finish Poland off on turn two.
