What's your favorite movie soundtrack?

Mine is the Bridge at Remagan. I bought the DvD just to hear the soundtrack I love it so much.

My second is Valley Of Gwangi. I found the soundtrack on You Tube and boy I loved it! [:)]

Unfortunately, as a movie, "Gwangi" wasn't loved by audiences and signaled the end of Harryhausen's stop-action artistry.

My favorite military movie's soundtrack is "The Hunt for Red October"; honerable mention to both "Gettysburg" and "A Bridge too Far".

Does the Vic at Sea documentary count?

I didn't mean The Eagle Has Landed - I meant Where Eagles Dare with Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood

I don't know about the whole soundtrack from a film but as for individual pieces of music from a film my fav's would be:

Theme from Schindlers List - Williams - (Schindlers List)
Forbidden Colours - Sakamoto - (Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence)
Eternal Father Strong to Save - Whiting (Crimson Tide)
Adagio in G minor - Albinoni (Gallipoli)
Adagio for strings - Samuel Barber (Platoon)
The opening music to Cross of Iron

If it had to be a soundtrack then I guess it would have to be either:

Battle of Britain - especially the music at the end of the film when the words of Churchill appear - Never in the field etc etc - I do not know what that is called but its a very emotional piece.

or

Operation Daybreak - especially the music for the final scene - thoroughly tear-jerking stuff.

Message edited because I forgot about Cross of Iron [:-]

Forgot about that one - +1 (though the Migs were the single most ridiculous thing I had ever seen! So much "buzz" and "intrepidation" of the new Russian Mig - and it carried 2 (read it - TWO) missiles??? aaaahahahahahahahahaha
